Top-fermented pale unfiltered wheat beer with a specific aroma, taste and appearance.
Our Weizenbier is characterized by its pleasant clove-like aroma typical of this type of beer and its strong intense flavor of zesty wheat with hints of banana dominating. It has a strong lively taste and medium body with the characteristic mild bitterness of Saaz hops. It is a high foamy unfiltered light yellow beer whose cloudiness is caused by yeast and a high protein content. It goes especially well with steaks and meats such as roasted duck or pork. It is also lovely with meatballs, sausages, seafood and soft cheeses such as mozzarella. The beer itself should be very carefully poured into a typically tall slim glass slightly closed at the top, which keeps the rich and dense foamy head. Swirl the remaining beer in the bottle before finishing it to maximize the yeasty cloudiness. It can be served with a slice of lemon at a temperature of 6 - 8°C. It perhaps ranks among festive beers which even women savour, thanks to its not overly-bitter taste. It is becoming a trend (www.primator.cz/en/our-beers/top-fermented/primator-weizenbier.html).

A very, very good beer ! Poured a nice unfiltered pale yellow. Hazy, but no chunks or floaties. Aroma is banana, clove and a little citrus. Very light head dissipates quickly...... I didn't mind - more beer to enjoy and sooner! Mouth feel is excellent, carbonation is perfect. Taste is wonderful, rich, complex, citrus is light, some mild bread flavors. Nothing sharp or intense, just good balance that blends together very well. Hops are extremely light, more would throw it off. A wonderful beer. I so wish i had bought more of these at the store......(www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/707/14962/)

Very cloudy yellow colored beer with a medium sized white colored head.
Highly aromatic, strong on the banana and lighter on the clove scents. Medium level of medicinal smelling phenols. But this beer just plain smells like a banana.
Semi-dry with a strong banana taste. Clove is stronger in the taste than the scent but this is still a banana tasting beer. Overall a Hefeweizen I can recommend (www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/707/14962/).

Összességében finom sör a Primator Búza, 8 pontot ér nálam (http://sortesztek.blogspot.nl/2012/01/primator-buzasor-weizenbier.html).
Primátor Weizenbier
Cervejaria Pivovar Náchod a.s.
Primator Weizenbier has intense flavour, the zesty wheat adding a hint of banana and a delicious clove-like aroma typical for this type of beer. It is full-flavoured, medium-bodied with the classic mild bitterness character of the Saaz hop. The rounded fruit characteristics are the result of the blend of upper brewer’s yeast and wheat malt. It is easily recognisable at first sight…. unfiltered, highly yeasty, straw coloured beer with an appealing cloudiness caused by yeastand protein. This beer is a real thirst-quencher (www.brejas.com.br/cerveja/republica-tcheca/primator-weizenbier).
PRIMATOR WEIZEN ABV: 5.0%
Style: Hefeweizen
Color: Pale Gold
Taste: Pours a hazy gold/orange color with a nose full of fresh German Wheat. Light to medium body and carbonation. This is what a German style wheat beer should be, bubble gum, banana and clove balanced delightfully.

1872The cornerstone was set on 8th April. Work on the building progressed and cellars began to be vaulted on 4th May.
Production started in the second half of the year as planned. The construction of the brewery was closely watched by nearly the whole town and many people went for walks to Montace to check progress at the site.
1873 The first batch of beer in the new brewery began to be brewed on 3rd October by Antonín Lutz. In October, 17 batches were brewed in total, of which ten were10° and seven 11° beer.
In November, there were 31 batches of 10° beer. In the brewery´s first period (roughly until the late 19th century), mainly 10° and 11° beer was brewed. Stronger beers (12° and 13°) were rarely brewed – usually before Christmas and Easter.
1925The popularity of Náchod beer increased, and operation was extended from 1925 – 1930 and a new brewhouse was built.
1935The trademark Náchodský Primátor ( Lord Mayor) started to be used in the former Náchod Municipal Brewery (in connection with the production of dark beer) - the predecessor of the current trademark PRIMÁTOR®.
1948It was only in the years following World War II that large investments were made – the bottling lines for bottled beer, refrigeration equipment, expansion of the malt-house, and the introduction of steam piping for brewing and malt drying.
1972Reconstruction of the brewery began - a new bottling plant, reconstruction of the lager cellar, installation of new cooling equipment.
1984Brew-house reconstruction began.
1992The Brewery was restituted to the town of Náchod.
2009The brewery was sold to LIF Group, Inc. Liberec.
2012In April, the product portfolio was expanded with a new brand - HRON ®, which is made according to original historical recipes from the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. HRON ® pale lager is brewed especially for customers who demand a more bitter beer than the classic ´twelve´. De reclame is eens niet standaard seksistisch:
Náchod is a town in the Czech Republic, in the Hradec Králové Region. Náchod lies in the valley of the river Metuje, in northern parts of the upland Podorlická pahorkatina. The town has a castle, and a brewery which until 2009 was owned by the town itself.
Náchod was founded in the 14th century by knight Hron of Načeradice, who founded a castle on a strategical place, where local trade road reaches the defile called Branka. The first written note dates back to 1254.
Until 1918, Náchod was part of the Austrian monarchy (Austria side after the compromise of 1867), head of the district with the same name, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Bohemia.

Náchod town has a brewery built in 1872, which sells a range of beers under the Primátor brand name. The town authorities agreed in February 2009 to sell the brewery for €5.3m to Liberec Investment Fund (LIF), the owners of Svijany and Rohozec breweries (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%A1chod#N.C3.A1chod_Brewery).
(zie ook Beer: The Ultimate World Tour door Bill Yenne; p. 80)
Nachod city authorities have decided to sell 100% of the municipal brewery to Liberec Investment Fund (LIF), the owner of the Svijanyand Rohozec breweries. The company offered CZK 150m (€5.3m) and, despite this not being the highest bid, the offer was accepted due to the company’s compliance with all of the requirements originally stipulated by Nachod city authorities, including five year’s experience in beer production, a commitment to keeping the Primator brand on the market for at least five years (with a failure to do so subject to a penalty of CZK 50m or €1.8m) and the agreement to leave one place on the management board to be filled by a representative of the city hall.
The two other bidders were Czech businessman Pavel Bojanovsky and the Holba brewery. Their offers were declined due to failure to comply with all requirements. The highest bid, CZK 185m (€6.5m), was lodged by the Holba brewery from Hanusovice, however, the company was unable to demonstrate its ability to pay this sum. Moreover, Holba’s capital does not exceed that of the Nachod brewery, which was also one of the conditions of sale. Other companies participating in the tender were Russian Tradition, K Brewery and Stein (www.ceeretail.com/news/69377/nachod-brewery-finally-sold).
Liberec Investment Fund (LIF)

In Nachod, a 700-year-old Czech town on the Polish border, Primator Brewery kegs waited to be loaded on containers bound for Kazakhstan while export manager Lenka Krausova fielded queries from as far away as Vietnam.
Five years after the municipality sold Primator to privately held Liberec Investment Fund, the beermaker is trying to make up for stagnant domestic sales by going beyond traditional European markets to build on export sales that have already quadrupled in the past decade.
“There’s been enormous interest from markets we’ve previously never heard from,” said Krausova. “We see a huge potential in those new countries.”
As the summer season begins to sizzle, Czech brewers like SABMiller Plc’s Plzensky Prazdroj AS, the maker of Pilsner Urquell, Primator, Budejovicky Budvar NP and Molson Coors Brewing Co.’s Pivovary Staropramen AS, are lining up against other international brands to win over drinkers in former Soviet republics to the east and Asia. Czech beermakers are betting they have an edge with campaign ads that tout European Union-protected Czech Beer and props such as 49-foot-tall wooden goats made by the maker of Pilsner Urquell that resemble Trojan Horses.
The success in finding a foothold in more-exotic destinations will depend on how well they address unfamiliar regulations, different drinking habits and low incomes among new consumers, said Amin Alkhatib, a London-based analyst at Euromonitor (www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-06-25/urquell-primator-go-east-with-czech-beer-giant-goats).
At Primator, founded in 1872 in Nachod, best known as the birthplace Josef Skvorecky, the Czech dissident writer and associate of Vaclav Havel who wrote World War II novel Engineer of the Human Soul, Krausova is touting the company as a small-time producer that avoids mass-production techniques. The brewer won the top prize at the World’s Best Beers Awards in 2013 with its Weizen beer (www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-06-25/urquell-primator-go-east-with-czech-beer-giant-goats).
Czech beers have a chance to reach sustainable growth in Asia, the Pacific region and South America by using the “Czech Beer” geographical indication label approved by the EU in 2008 as an advertising advantage, said Vladimir Balach, the head of the Czech Beer and Malt Association. Geographical indications protect product labels such as Champagne, feta and Parma ham from being used by producers outside the indicated region.
Carrying the Czech Beer label requires the use of specific types of Czech-grown barley and hops that give the domestic brew its characteristic bitterness, aroma and drinkability, Balach said.
“It’s the quality and distinctive flavor that rules global markets now and the traditional Czech lagers have them both,” Prazdroj marketing director Grant McKenzie said in an interview in Prague (www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-06-25/urquell-primator-go-east-with-czech-beer-giant-goats).
